The year is 3950. The Terran Federation and the Empire are at war…
I’ve spent most of the morning pushing my timeline ahead. The two superpowers meet just before 3950, so I decided that 3950 is a great year for the “here and now” of this setting. The TF-Imperial war has just started; the Empire lost Camelot and Avalon (and surrounding space) to the Terran Federation’s first major offensive.
There were various minor changes to this map since the “finished” map I posted months ago; most notably both Federation and Empire are smaller than they were. I’ve left a white dashed border on the map to mark the maximum extent of human colonization of the Orion Spur. I will add a number of smaller nations in this volume in the future, just to mix things up a little.
I’ve also corrected a few very minor errors – and I’ve updated the Seals in the lower right corner to match the new designs.
Some detail views:
In addition to border changes, Empire now uses a reddish color for its border.
The Terran Federation lost a lot of territory as well, but clearly remains the largest nation. It now uses a blueish border color.
The Thousand Worlds’ territory is now slightly different, matching the color intensity of the background for a more naturalistic look.
The Sword-Worlds are now considered a nation (they’re a loose alliance, really). Border color recycled from Thousand Worlds because I am color blind and find it hard to find colors that contrast well with the background – The Thousand Worlds and The Sword-Worlds are not allied.
Hmmm. I think they are trying to tell us something.
